Information Services staff and student workers (STARS) are available to assist all students with laptop configuration and connectivity issues. Software support is also available. If needed, the Dell laptop's hard drive can be "reimaged," returning all software to original out-of-box settings. A best effort is made to resolve software problems for all other laptops.

In addition, students who purchase a recommended Dell or Apple laptop receive the following support from the manufacturer:

Dell Latitude 7440 Ultrabook and XPS 12 

  • 3 year manufacturer's hardware ProSupport warranty, including:
    • Expedited telephone assistance
    • Next-day, onsite repair
    • CompleteCare accidental damage coverage
  • Computrace theft/loss protection service
  • Loaner laptop available during repair (issued by QU staff)
Apple MacBook Pro and MacBook Pro with retina display

  • 3 year manufacturer's hardware AppleCare warranty, including:
    • Telephone assistance
    • Mail-in repair, using Apple-provided prepaid shipping box
    • Carry-in repair at any Apple Retail Store
