To help protect you against loss or theft, Computrace® from Absolute Software is included on the Dell Latitude E6420. Computrace® LoJack® for Laptops is a theft-protection service that can track, locate and recover stolen laptops. If your laptop is ever stolen, simply alert LoJack's monitoring center and a recovery team can work with the local law enforcement to recover it. |

When connected to the Internet, Computrace can check into the monitoring center with specific location information. This information can be used to help locate your laptop in the event it is lost or stolen. Instructions for checking Computrace on your laptop can be found on the Client Services MyQ site under Information Services. (QU ID and password required for entry).
Computrace is embedded into your computer's basic input/output system (BIOS) and installed on the hard drive. The following procedures should be implemented in the event of hardware replacement or operating system reinstallation:

If the operating system is re-installed |
Computrace for Laptops should automatically heal itself on the new operating system. For further information, have the customer contact Computrace LoJack for Laptops Technical Support at http://www.absolute.com/support. |

If the hard drive is replaced |
If the computer is BIOS enabled (www.absolute.com/products-bios-enabled-computers.asp ) Computrace LoJack for Laptops will automatically repair itself on this new hard drive. The customer should not have to do anything further. If the computer is not BIOS enabled, the customer will need to re-install Computrace LoJack for Laptops. If the system board of the computer is replaced |
