Information Services staff and student workers (STARs) are available to assist all students with laptop configuration, connectivity issues and software support. If needed, the laptop's hard drive can be "reimaged," returning all software to original, out-of-box settings. In addition to full support of recommended laptops, a best effort is made to resolve software problems for all other laptops.

Students who purchase a recommended laptop also receive the following support from the manufacturer:

Apple Laptops

  • Three-year manufacturer's hardware AppleCare warranty, including:
    • Telephone assistance
    • Mail-in repair, using Apple-provided prepaid shipping box
    • Carry-in repair at any Apple Retail Store
    • No accidental damage coverage

Dell Laptops

  • Three-year manufacturer's hardware ProSupport warranty, including:
    • Expedited telephone assistance
    • Next-day, on site repair
    • CompleteCare accidental damage coverage
  • Loaner laptop available during repair (issued by Quinnipiac staff)

HP Laptops

  • Three-year manufacturer's hardware warranty, including:
  • Loaner laptop available during repair (issued by Quinnipiac staff)

Lenovo Laptops

  • Three-year manufacturer's hardware warranty, including:
  • Loaner laptop available during repair (issued by Quinnipiac staff)
