MK 316 - Advertising Design for New Media and Technology
 
(3 cr.) This course focuses on creativity as it relates to delivering effective advertising messages in a complex and evolving media/technology landscape. The class builds on principles covered in previous classes with the practical experience of following current campaigns. Topics include branding, design, color theory, copywriting, producing original ideas, leading creative teams and measuring results. Students sharpen their visual literacy--necessary to identify great design--and critical thinking--necessary to effectively analyze ads and strategies. Special attention is given to engaging consumers online and through mobile devices. The class has an optional social media component in which ads are discussed online in real time as they break.
