| (3 cr.) Music plays a major role in all media where sound
is a component. This course explores the nature of
music and elements such as rhythm, harmony,
resonance and entrainment. Through a series of
texts and films, participants seek to understand
the power music brings to the world of
communication. Using a nontechnical approach, they
examine principles that underlie music's status as
the universal language and enable it to speak to
the mind, heart and soul of humanity.
