Cell: 203-858-6753. Paul Janensch, a newpaper reporter and editor for more than 30 years, retired in 2009 as an associate professor of journalism. He continues to conduct a senior seminar on the news media in other countries. In 1995, he was the first print journalist to join the fulltime faculty. He designed the graduate journalism program and has taught all levels of journalism courses. His commentaries on the news media can be heard on WQUN, 1220 AM in Hamden, Conn., at 6:40 a.m. Wednesdays and 8:40 a.m. Saturdays and at wqun.com. His essays about Florida's Treasure Coast can be heard on WQCS, 88.9 FM in Fort Pierce, Fla., at 7:20 a.m. Mondays and at wqcs.org. He was the top editor of the Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky., the Rockland Journal News in Nyack, N.Y., and the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Mass., and was the No. 2 editor of the Philadelphia Daily News. In Louisville, two members if his staff won a Pulitzer Prize. He also worked in Chicago, Washington and San Diego He was a newspaper consultant in Russia and has lectured in China. He co-wrote a non-fiction play based on WWII letters, which was staged by the Shawnee Playhouse in Pennsylvania. He and his wife Gail live in Fairfield County, Conn., and Vero Beach, Fla.
