Hello. Welcome to the Quinnipiac University School of Nursing Faculty Profile page. My name is Lisa O'Connor. I am an Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of the Undergraduate Nursing Program. I received my Baccalaureate in Nursing and Master's Degree in Nursing Education from the University of Hartford along with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (EdD). I have experience in medical surgical and critical care nursing, along with 17 years in education including hospital-based education and higher education. Prior to coming to Quinnipiac 10 years ago, I served in Clinical Nurse Specialist, Staff Development and Quality Management roles. My current research interests center around student experiences including BSN curriculum innovation (the marriage of acute health and community health courses), academic progression and indicators of success, the accelerated second degree student, and the student studying abroad. I am actively involved in curriculum committee work at the School and University level. I am currently the Undergraduate Faculty Counselor for the Tau Rho Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing and am on the Board of the Directors of the Connecticut League for Nursing.
