About
I started my studies at UCONN in biology. After graduating, I found I had an interest in teaching and taught 7th and 8th grades and high school. I also began working as a nurse's aid and made another discovery: I enjoyed caring for people and helping them in times of wellness and illness. I embarked on my nursing career and earned an MSN from Yale University becoming an adult nurse practitioner. I yearned for more knowledge and returned to UCONN for a PhD. I had begun working internationally with nurses in Lithuania during my MSN studies. I continued my Lithuanian nursing research with a historical study of Lithuanian nursing history. I have also worked in health policy to ensure access to care for patients and to remove barriers to nurse practitioner practice. Currently I teach nurse practitioner courses in the graduate nursing program and have continued with legislative and international nursing activities.
