SO 255 - (UC) Sociology of Families (WS 255)
 
(3 cr.) In this introductory course, students critically examine families in the U.S., both historically and in the current day. Topics include the ways in which families have evolved over time and the effect of economic and social factors (such as race, class and gender) on family life. Students learn about the diversity of families in other cultures and current issues facing families. Prerequisite: SO 101; Every Year, All
