LAWS 293 - Independent Research Project W

(3 cr.) The independent research project permits a student to conduct a major research and writing project under the supervision of a full-time member of the law school faculty. It is contemplated that the student will prepare a written assignment that is twenty or more pages in length, exclusive of footnotes, per credit assigned. A student who wishes to write an independent research paper must submit to the supervising faculty member a written proposal that demonstrates that he or she has a viable topic for research. The student must register for the course, with the approval of the faculty member, by the beginning of the student's next to last semester of law school. An independent research project may satisfy the substantial paper component of the advanced writing requirement if the project is for either two or three credits. Every Year, All
