(3 cr.) This course combines literary and historical interpretations of the period between the two world wars. American values and attitudes during the 1920s and 1930s are examined within six major themes: disillusionment, middle class values, conflict of race and class, the depression, rise of fascism at home and abroad, and the prewar dilemma.
