PO 218 - Politics of Health
 
(3 cr.) This course provides an introduction to governmental issues and problems of public health and health services in the U.S. Emphasis is on the political issues of regulation, affordability and accessibility of the health-care system. Students become familiar with key actors and processes in the health-care public policy-making process, including the roles of Congress, the executive branch, state regulatory agencies, interest groups, corporations, public opinion and elections. Prerequisite: PO 131 or QU 201; As Needed
