(3 cr.) This course assumes some familiarity with the abiding features of argumentation. Between reading a variety of texts about how various disciplines construct argumentative discourse, students keep journals and write a series of short essays that build toward a longer research essay. Students also listen to invited QU professors from across the disciplines regarding how arguments are made and are expected to make oral presentations in relation to their chosen area of research. Prerequisite: one course from EN level 200; Every Other Year, Fall
