PS 357 - Drugs, Brain and Behavior
 
(3 cr.) This course introduces students to the effects and mechanisms of action of psychoactive drugs. Drugs used in the treatment of psychological disorders as well as drugs of abuse are covered. In addition to describing basic principles of neuropharmacology, the course covers theories of tolerance, dependence and abuse in depth. Pharmacotherapy for substance abuse and major mental disorders is described from both a biological and clinical perspective. Prerequisite: PS 252; Every Year, Fall and Spring
