MER 491 - Mechanical Power Plants
 
(3 cr.) Students engage in the analysis, testing and evaluation of internal combustion engines and their subsystems with a view toward understanding the underlying principles that affect their design. Spark ignition and compression ignition engine systems are studied in detail with laboratory opportunities to relate theory to practice. A series of component design problems is interspersed throughout the course. Prerequisite: MER 310, MER 320; Every Year, Spring
