PT 503 - Physical Therapy Process
(2 cr.) This course introduces the physical therapy student to basic physical therapy evaluation and treatment skills. Students begin to learn medical terminology and documentation and basic physical therapy skills including body mechanics, transfers, bed mobility and gait training. They learn to assess a patient by taking vital signs, and learn how to respond to medical emergencies commonly encountered in physical therapy. Range of motion and manual muscle testing of the upper extremity are introduced. Throughout this course, the emphasis is on the development of problem-solving skills. Every Year, Fall
