SW 614 - Social Work Issues in Health & Illness
 
(3 cr.) This course discusses the importance of cultural and socioeconomic factors in the creation of major health disparities in the United States. Physiological, psychological, social and environmental factors are considered in relationship to cultural and socioeconomic factors in explaining both etiology and consequences of disease. The framework is applied to common diseases in the life course. This course or SW 611 is required for those MSW students specializing in Health/Mental Health/Substance Abuse. Prerequisite: SW 502, SW 503; Every Other Year, Spring
