SO 235 - American Culture and Society: The 1950s-1980s
 
(3 cr.) The course examines what it means to be an American. Students explore the structure of American culture and discuss more specific American cultural manifestations in areas such as love, consumerism, childrearing and sport. These topics are covered via an assessment of the health versus pathology of American culture. Course material is rooted in sociological literature within the field of culture and personality. Prerequisite: SO 101; Every Other Year
