|(3 cr.) This course covers the development, design and
implementation, and management of corporate
networks, as well as topologies and their
implementation. Security and management issues are
examined. Current methods, practices and issues in
the use of computer networks to enable
communications are covered. Also considered are
the physical and architectural elements and
information layers of a communication network.
International standards, network architectures,
communication protocols, data link switching,
routing and LANs, WANs and client/server
environments are reviewed.
