Renowned Irish Famine expert Christine Kinealy appointed to faculty

Christine Kinealy, a world-renowned authority on Ireland’s Great Hunger, has been appointed professor of history and Irish studies. In addition, Kinealy will serve as director of the newly created Ireland’s Great Hunger Institute at Quinnipiac, which will serve as a scholarly resource for the study of the Great Hunger.

Mark Firmani, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to undertake intensive study of Arabic from June-August 2013 in Rabat, Morocco.

Margaret Heeran and Aizlyn Pieszak won Outstanding Attorney Awards as members of Quinnipiac University's undergraduate mock trial team at the American Mock Trial Association Regional Tournament held Feb. 23-24 at Yale University.
