About
I enjoy the duties of Professor of History and founding Director of the University Honors Program. My research specializations include the history of breeding and reform in the United States in particular during the early twentieth century. The focus of my work is the history of eugenics and race betterment movements, and my current project on the "drive for purity" in the United States received substantial support from the National Science Foundation in the form of a multi-year Scholar's Grant. In addition to my current full-time position at Quinnipiac University I have held post-doctoral positions at Caltech and Yale University, and research fellowships at Cornell and the American Philosophical Society.
