I earned a MA and a PhD in Sociology from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. I also have a MS in Human Development and Family Studies from Oregon State University and a BA in Honors Sociology and English from the University of Oregon.
I primarily teach courses about families, aging, and gender. Above you will find links to the courses I am currently teaching.
I am a qualitative methodologist who studies the intersections of family, gender and work (both paid and unpaid). My projects have included a study about stay-at-home fathers' construction of fatherhood and masculine identities and, my primary area of expertise, work/life issues for faculty.
