About

I began working as a professor at Quinnipiac in 2004. I came here from Syracuse University, where I earned a MA and a PhD in Sociology from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. I also have a MS in Human Development and Family Studies from Oregon State University and a BA in Honors Sociology and English from the University of Oregon.

Courses Taught

I primarily teach courses about families, aging, and gender. Above you will find links to the courses I am currently teaching.

Research Interests

I study the intersections of family, gender and work (both paid and unpaid). I use qualitative methods in my research projects. Currently, I am interviewing stay-at-home fathers about their experiences being full-time caregivers.
