22nd N.E.U.R.O.N. Conference and 40th Hunter College Psychology Convention

The 22nd N.E.U.R.O.N. Conference and 40th Hunter College Psychology Convention will be held on April 1, 2012, at Hunter College in New York, N.Y.

All events will take place on the 8th floor of the Hunter West building on the Hunter College Campus at the corner of 68th Street and Lexington Avenue.

The conference will run from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and is free of charge to all attendees.

Complimentary breakfast, buffet lunch and an afternoon fruit-and-cheese reception are included. On-site registration will be available at 8:30 a.m. While advance registration via the N.E.U.R.O.N. Web site is appreciated, it is not required to attend.

Suggested travel is by subway within New York City. Take the number 6 subway to the 68th Street station. Hunter West is located at the southwest corner of that intersection. If arriving by car, there is a parking garage on East 68th Street on the block between Third Avenue and Lexington Avenue; cost for the day is approximately $20.

N.E.U.R.O.N. stands for the NorthEast Undergraduate Research Organization for Neuroscience. Ongoing conference goals are to provide a forum for neuroscience undergraduate and graduate students to discuss their work, to provide faculty an opportunity to discuss curricular and research issues in neuroscience, biopsychology and related areas.

The CUNY Animal Behavior Initiative Annual Conference is being help on March 31, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. -  8:30 p.m. at The Roosevelt House in New York, N.Y. Recent past conferences
The 21st N.E.U.R.O.N conference was held Nov. 6, 2011, at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. The conference was held at the Rocky Top Student Center on Quinnipiaci's York Hill Campus. The guest speaker was Cheryl McCormick, professor, PhD & Canada Research Chair in Neuroscience at Brock University in Canada. McCormick's research interests are in the fields of behavioral neuroscience and developmental neuroendocrinology. The 20th N.E.U.R.O.N. conference featured a keynote  speech by Tracey Shors, a professor in the psychology department and in the Center for Collaborative Neuroscience at Rutgers University. Watch a video of the speech.
