Janice received her B.S. in Accounting with High Honors from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Quinnipiac, she was on faculty at New Mexico State University, where she received the Sunwest Bank Award for Outstanding Performance in Graduate Teaching. In addition, she is a recipient of the Dykstra Award for Teaching Excellence at the University of Michigan. She also teaches for Yale during its Summer Sessions. Her research is focused on financial-reporting issues, such as the analysis of working capital ratios and quarterly data. Her writing also addresses teaching/learning-related issues such as assessment and the evaluation of group performance. Research papers and cases she has co-authored on these subjects appear in Issues in Accounting Education, Advances in Accounting Education, Journal of Education for Business, Academy of Accounting and Financial Studies Journal, Business Education Innovation Journal, Commercial Lending Review, Academy of Educational Leadership Journal, and the Journal of the International Academy for Case Studies.
