About

I've been an adjunct faculty member for Quinnipiac University since August 1997, beginning with the birth of the master's program in the School of Communications and teaching the initial Basic Print Reporting class. I also taught a couple of undergraduate classes and developed the Advanced Print Reporting class, which I taught on campus in Spring 2002. As a longtime journalist, I moved to North Carolina in 2002 to become metro editor of the Winston-Salem Journal after 15 years in various editing positions at the Hartford Courant. In 2003, I adapted the Advanced Print Reporting class for online and have taught it every summer since then. At the Journal, I eventually became Senior Editor, with responsibility for content on print and digital platforms before leaving the paper in early 2011. Since April 2011, I have worked as a writer/editor for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, taking on a variety of work, again for both print and online publication.
