What can I study at Quinnipiac University's School of Education?

The School of Education offers programs in teaching, educational leadership, instructional design and special education.

Master of Arts in Teaching

The School of Education offers two routes to the master of arts in teaching degree (MAT).

Undergraduate students enroll in our five-year BA/MAT program to earn dual degrees: a bachelor's degree, in one of the many majors available at Quinnipiac, and a master of arts in elementary or secondary education.

Students who have already earned a bachelor's degree enroll in a full-time, five-semester graduate program leading to an MAT in elementary or secondary education.

All programs combine challenging course work with supervised fieldwork and internship experiences. Courses average 15 students each and are taught be a diverse, accomplished faculty.

Leadership in Education

The School of Education also offers two educational leadership degrees: the sixth-year diploma in educational leadership and an online master's program in teacher leadership.

Instructional Design

The online graduate program in instructional design, leading to the master of science degree, prepares candidates to create effective digital materials and environments for learning, such as websites, digital games, video, audio, social media and online courses.

Special Education

The certificate program in special education is a 12-credit option for MAT program teacher candidates.
