About Our Students

Our relatively small size means a student community that is close, connected and, with more than 30 student organizations, constantly on the move. Our students bring a wide range of backgrounds to their law school experience. The Fall 2012 incoming class of first-year law students arrived on campus with more than 33 different undergraduate majors from 70 different colleges and universities. The class of 127 students also brought impressive academic credentials:

Faculty and Administrators

Our QU Law faculty are distinguished and accessible, and our student-to-faculty ratio is a notable 12:1. Our administrators pride themselves on being highly responsive to students, too--a spirit that extends throughout the law school community.

Facilities Overview

Our QU Law facilities are a point of pride. Our current School of Law Center is a wonderful setting for learning and scholarship, but excitement is building as we look forward to the transition in 2014 to our new, state-of-the-art facility on Quinnipiac's nearby North Haven Campus. This innovative complex will be home to most of the University's graduate programs, including the schools of law and medicine. Find out more about our current School of Law Center


Bar Passage

Quinnipiac School of Law graduates have once again achieved outstanding results on the Connecticut Bar Exam.
In 2012, Quinnipiac had a combined bar passage rate of 89 percent for first-time takers of the February and July Connecticut Bar Exams.  Quinnipiac's bar passage rate (90%) for first-time test-takers on the July 2012 Connecticut exam was the highest among all law schools nationally that had 15 or more persons taking it. QU Law also prepares you to take almost any bar exam in the country. In addition to our in-depth curriculum, we offer a supplemental bar prep course (free to our students) which boasts an average bar pass rate of 98 percent over the past five years on the Connecticut Bar Exam.

Employment Outcomes

QU Law's excellent location along the Northeast corridor means easy access to New York, Boston, Hartford and New Haven, and one of the highest concentrations of private law firms, corporate headquarters, and financial institutions in the United States. QU Law offers an extensive range of 15 clinic and externship programs that immerse students in real-world experience, and a focused and dedicated Career Development Office with a range of career development and job search programs and resources.

Statistics and outcomes
For the class of 2012, 127 of our 151 graduates were employed nine months after their graduation date. Our accrediting agency, the American Bar Association, maintains detailed information about the types of jobs in which those 127 graduates were employed on Feb. 15, 2013.
