Student Expulsion Advocacy Project
The primary purpose of the Student Expulsion Advocacy Project (SEAP) is to advocate for K-12 public school students who would not otherwise have access to legal counsel during expulsion hearings. Under the supervision of members of the Connecticut bar, as coordinated through the Quinnipiac University School of Law clinical programs, student volunteer members counsel K-12 students who are facing expulsion during and through the end of the expulsion hearing process.
Secondary purposes of the project include training a cadre of law students to become capable of handling expulsion cases pro bono upon admission to the bar and giving law students the opportunity to gain valuable real-world advocacy experience without needing to commit to a traditional semester-long clinic or externship.
