Students in the Scholarly Reflection and Concentration/Capstone course create a personal curriculum, which forms a unique and valuable component of their medical school experience. By choosing from one of seven concentrations, selecting a project mentor, and taking three graduate courses from across University schools, students are empowered to pursue scholarly research in an area of interest related to clinical medicine. The course culminates in the completion and presentation of a capstone project that supports their professional development and inspires them to continue life-long learning, critical thinking, and scholarship throughout their career.

By providing students with an opportunity to engage in course work in the Schools of Business, Communications, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Nursing, and the College of Arts and Sciences, the capstone experience supports the institution's goal of interprofessional education and fosters interdisciplinary understanding, teamwork, and collegiality.
