|(3 cr.) This course examines the management of vitamins
and herbal medicines across the lifespan.
Topics include the physiology, pathophysiology,
source, toxicity, interaction, therapeutic uses,
clinical application and health promotion related
to various vitamins and commonly used herbal
medicines. Students also are provided with
knowledge of vitamins as they pertain to the
nutritional value, daily requirements, assessment
and treatment of deficiencies. The course is
offered to all health professional students.
