Hello! I have been a member of the Quinnipiac University faculty community since 2007. I am currently an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Accelerated Track in Nursing. My role in the School of Nursing includes admission and coordination of the accelerated track and advisement for traditional, accelerated, and DNP students. In addition, I teach nursing fundamentals, nursing care of children, leadership, and clinical laboratory courses to both traditional and accelerated nursing students. I continue to practice as a staff nurse in the pediatric setting to maintain that bridge between currency in the field and an appreciation for the work of a nurse. My research interests are with accelerated nursing students. I have recently collaborated on a project using photo-voice to describe the experiences of accelerated students who are also underrepresented in nursing. Data analysis is in progress. A future study is planned to examine the experiences of men in accelerated programs in nursing. Having received two grants from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program has facilitated building upon this interest.
