| (3 cr.) This distance learning course explores the field
of mummy science, placing the study of
mummies within a cultural and global context.
Students discover what can be learned, how it can
be learned and how data should be used to create
new knowledge regarding mummified
human remains. Course content challenges students
to apply experimental design to mummy science
questions. Students create hypotheses,
design experiments, analyze collected data and
determine the significance of the
findings. The significance of mummy studies to
current populations also is discussed.
