BMS 378 - Vaccines and Vaccine Preventable Diseases
 
(4 cr.) This immunology course focuses on vaccines and vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs). The purpose of the course is to examine and discuss the current understanding of vaccinations, as well as the historical and current implication of VPDs. By the end of the semester, students should understand how vaccines work, how they are made, who recommends them, when they should be given and whether they are still necessary. Students also should be able to answer questions regarding their use and safety. Students may only take one of the following courses: BMS 378, HSC 378 or BMS 525 for credit.
