In this specialization, recommended electives focus on the challenges of implementing digital resources for learning in the context of the K-12 classroom. Students examine best practices for the use of technology; issues such as selecting, budgeting for, and evaluating digital resources; and how to mentor and support faculty in the use of technology. Candidates also further develop their expertise in the hands-on design and pedagogical use of interactive environments, including games, simulations, and microworlds, and in the evaluation of new technologies for educational use.
