The literacy leadership track in the master of science in teacher leadership program focuses on creating literacy advocates both in the classroom and the school community. These specialized classes give teacher-leaders a systematic approach for focusing the energy of a school on every child's growth as a learner and the means to improve student achievement.

Courses also explore the best practices in mentoring teachers to improve the teaching of literacy, development of a peer-to-peer coaching network for inquiry, conversation, collaboration and support, and the concepts and principles of conducting action research in an educational setting.
