All NEW students (both freshmen and transfer) and RETURNING students who began enrollment after July 1, 2011, are required to complete the CSS Profile Form in order to be considered for institutional grant assistance.
The CSS Profile Form is used by more than 500 colleges and universities nationally to help better assess a family's ability to absorb educational costs. There is a $9 application fee required for this form and an additional $16 for each college listed on the form. The CSS Profile Form can be completed any time after Oct. 1, but should not be completed any later than March 1 in order to be given full consideration for financial aid.
Quinnipiac also requires the Noncustodial Parent Profile Form for students whose parents are divorced, separated or remarried. A link to this form will be sent via e-mail by the College Board upon completion of the regular Profile application for those who meet the conditions.
All students (freshmen, transfer and returning) are also required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be given consideration for federal aid including PELL, SEOG, Perkins, Work-study, Direct Stafford Loans and Direct Parent Loans. Many state grant and scholarship programs also require a student to complete a FAFSA in order to be given consideration.
Deadlines for financial aid applications are as follows:
- December 1 - CSS Profile due for Early Decision applicants who wish to apply for aid (FAFSA to be completed prior to March 1)
- March 1 - All new students (freshmen and transfer) - CSS Profile and FAFSA
- April 1 - Returning students - FAFSA (and CSS Profile for all students enrolled after July 1, 2011)
*** IMPORTANT NOTE: New students (freshmen and transfer) who only complete a FAFSA form will receive an award letter to include all federal financial aid for which they qualify. It is important to note, however, that this award letter will not include institutional grants, which in many cases, can be a substantial amount of gift aid which does not require repayment. The FAFSA or CSS Profile Form is NOT required for students receiving scholarship aid only. ***
