Perkins loans are available to needy students on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the extremely limited amount of funds available in this program, we offer $1000 loans to the first 300 eligible students (approximately) on an annual basis. Perkins loans come with a fixed interest rate of 5% and payment begins 9 months after a student ceases to be enrolled at least half-time. Students receiving Perkins funds will need to complete additional paperwork during the first week of the semester. Notices are emailed to each recipient prior to the beginning of the semester informing them of the dates and times to complete these forms.
If a student is otherwise eligible and does not receive a Perkins loan on their initial award letter, they can email us and request to be placed on our waitlist. Should funds become available, we will then offer loans to students on the waitlist in date order until all funds are exhausted.
