Homecoming 2014: Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014

The Alumni Association invites alumni, parents, faculty, staff and families to Homecoming 2014 on October 11. Come show your Bobcat pride and visit with fellow members of the Quinnipiac community.

Celebrate the newest Athletic Hall of Fame inductees; visit with fellow alumni at the Homecoming Reception and cheer on the Bobcats at the opening game of the men's ice hockey season vs. Bentley. Or check out the other games being offered that weekend at quinnipiacbobcats.com.

Earlier in the day, school and affinity group specific events will take place for those who graduated from the School of Education, School of Law or School of Nursing, or were a part of Student Programming Board. Learn more about all the events below.

All-alumni Homecoming eventsAlumni homecoming reception

5-7 p.m. Homecoming Reception
Rocky Top Student Center Dining Hall, York Hill Campus
Quinnipiac alumni, friends and family are invited to reconnect with classmates, faculty and staff at the Homecoming Reception in the unique Rocky Top Student Center. Enjoy tailgate favorites, music and a cash bar before cheering on the men's ice hockey team in their season-opener against Bentley.
Adults: $25, reception and ice hockey game ticket; $15, reception only
Children (12 and under): $10, reception and ice hockey game ticket; $5 reception only
Please note: Discounted hockey ticket and reception combination is available until Oct. 6 at midnight. After that date, you will need to purchase ice hockey tickets directly from the ticket office.

7 p.m. Men's ice hockey game vs. Bentleymen's ice hockey homecoming
High Point Solutions Arena, TD Bank Sports Center, York Hill Campus
To purchase game tickets only (without the Homecoming reception) call the Quinnipiac ticket office at 203-582-3905 after Sept. 29, when they go on sale.

Athletic Hall of Fame InductionQuinnipiac Athletic Hall of Fame Induction

4 - 7 p.m.  Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony
Lender Court, TD Bank Sports Center, York Hill Campus
All alumni and friends are invited to a ceremony and reception highlighting the six individuals and two teams being inducted into the Quinnipiac Athletic Hall of Fame. The celebration will begin with the induction ceremony, followed by dinner. The Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1971 to honor student-athletes, coaches, athletic administrators and friends who have made outstanding contributions to intercollegiate athletics at the University. 
Adults: $25; Children (12 and under): $15; price includes reserved seat for the 7 p.m. men's ice hockey game

Second Floor, Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, North Haven Campus
School of Education alumni are invited to a reconnect at a casual reception with Kevin G. Basmadjian, dean of the School of Education and faculty, followed by a speaking program featuring John Mastroianni, 2014 Connecticut Teacher of the Year.

School of Law Alumni Events

3 - 5 p.m. School of Law Center tours, reception and alumni address by Joe Tacopina, JD '91
School of Law Center, North Haven Campus
School of Law alumni and friends are invited to tour the new School of Law Center facility on Quinnipiac's North Haven Campus and enjoy a casual reception. Guest speaker, Joe Tacopina, JD '91 will share insights from his years representing a variety of high profile clients. Joe has represented clients in more than 90 trials, often attracting intense media focus. According to the New York Times, "Mr. Tacopina is to the defense bar what Donald Trump is to real estate," and USA Today describes Joe as "elevated to the upper level of prominence." The New York Daily News has referred to him as "one of New York's fiercest defenders" and "a legal Houdini."

School of Nursing alumni are invited to a reconnect at a casual reception with Jean Lange, dean of the School of Nursing and faculty, followed by a speaking program featuring Donna Montesi-Enters MS '02, DNP '13, APRN, WCC, practice manager for the West Haven Medical Group Division of PACT and recipient of the 2011 State Award for Excellence from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Student Programming Board Alumni Events

3 - 5 p.m. SPBlast to the Past

Student Programming Board alumni are invited to this second annual event, organized by current SPB students. Reconnect with SPB alumni and meet current SPB students during an afternoon gathering with food, friends and fun, prior to the all-alumni Homecoming Reception.
8:30 p.m. Dakaboom performance, sponsored by SPB
Rocky Top Student Center, York Hill Campus
SPB alumni are invited to the SPB's regularly scheduled program: a performance by Dakaboom. Two singers, one piano and talent to take your breath away; Dakaboom combines their musical abilities with comedy to perform an electric show.
