True Course

Our student focus has continually guided and shaped our University. From the programs we offer—and see in our near future—to our commitment to our Institutes, and to the enhancement and expansion of our facilities and technologies, you'll see this focus play out in many ways. Our mission is—and always has been—to provide the personal, student-centered approach that will both challenge and support our students as they prepare for their careers. As faculty, administrators and staff members, this is the way we impact our world.

Our course, ever true and ever changing, is reflected in our name. Once translated to mean "long-water or country," newer sources have revealed that "Quinnipiac" may derive from "quinnuppin-uk," meaning "to make change in the direction of travel" or "a turning point." Through all of the changes in direction our institution has seen, one thing remains the same—our focus and dedication to our students, our staff and our community.

Quinnipiac University School of Law

Since 1995, Quinnipiac University School of Law has been providing law students the ability to work with true legal scholars—a community of committed, challenging and passionate individuals who make law come alive inside the classroom. Our wide span of disciplines, research, expertise and time, combined with students' eagerness to learn, is something unique to Quinnipiac and is unparalleled at larger universities.

Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine

With the impending opening of the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, Quinnipiac will take its place among the fewer than 100 schools with both a law school and medical school on site. The School of Medicine received its preliminary accreditation in 2012 and began accepting students for the Fall 2013 semester. The school is also looking forward to possible clinical/health system partnerships and will soon complete the renovations to the 120,000-square-foot facility, including operating and examination rooms, classrooms, student and faculty offices and anatomy labs.

Quinnipiac Polling Institute

Since 1988, the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute has provided informed and non-biased statistics to the American public on politics and public policy. Nationally recognized by media outlets such as The Washington Post, Fox News, USA Today, The New York Times and CNN, the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute has correctly predicted multiple presidential elections in partnership with some of these same organizations and has provided research for educational institutions nationwide.

A Vibrant Future

Over the near century of its existence, Quinnipiac University has transformed itself from a small community college issuing associate's degrees into a nationally renowned University at the forefront of technology and innovation. As one of the biggest success stories in higher education, we have survived and thrived through tough times, and developed a model that allows us to be nimble and responsive to the changes in the economic climate. This, in the end, translates into success not only for the University, but also for everyone in the Quinnipiac community. We all do our part to keep focused on our core values, with a clear eye on the future.

Be part of a community of thinkers, doers and innovators. Make a turning point in your career at Quinnipiac. Take the lead.
