"Quinnipiac places value on the individual student and tries to emphasize smaller class sizes to facilitate this process. This approach differs from larger state institutions. While there is diversity in thought as to what is effective teaching, most faculty appear to be genuinely focused on student learning. This has been my favorite aspect of Quinnipiac."

A warm environment

"Quinnipiac offers a warm and inviting environment. As a new faculty member, I have been supported in trying to make changes in the way I teach. I have also been able to conduct science education research in the classroom, which has been great. So far, my proudest accomplishment has been conducting research and presenting at conferences."

Very supportive

"At Quinnipiac, I have a very supportive department. With two young children, I have been able to balance the demands of being a working mother. My contract is 9.5 months, so that allows summers to be optional for teaching. In general, there is good support for faculty who work here."
