Rahul Anand, MD

Dr. Anand (he/his) is an Associate Professor of Medical Sciences at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. His teaching focuses on Microbiology/ Infectious Diseases, and Leadership/ Health Systems Science. He directs an award-winning elective curriculum on leadership and teamwork for medical students. At Quinnipiac University, Dr. Anand is a faculty fellow in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Interprofessional Education as well as a fellow of the Albert Schweitzer Institute. He also serves as the Director of Infectious Diseases at Community Health Services, Hartford.

Dr. Anand trained in Delhi, India including medical school and residency at Delhi University. He moved to the US in 2004 and did his Medicine residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, followed by an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. He also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation focusing on implementation science and quality improvement, and an MBA (healthcare track) at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

He has had diverse work experiences ranging from the underserved areas of Hartford, CT and Bronx, NY running an HIV center of excellence, to working at the University of Utah and the George E. Wahlen Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City practicing travel and tropical medicine, transplant ID and orthopedic ID, to practicing across the spectrum of community based clinical infectious diseases and serving as the Hospital Epidemiologist for Middlesex Health in Middletown, Connecticut. Dr. Anand serves as guest faculty for the Infectious Diseases Society of America's Leadership Institute, and the Harvard Macy Institute.

Dr. Anand is passionate about teaching the art and science of Infectious Diseases, leadership and health systems science to all levels of learners to advance our shared mission of building the healthcare system of the future starting right here at the University of the future.
