Students using social media to cheat during final exam season
The Chronicle of Higher Education recently published the article, "Another Use for Yik Yak on Campus? Cheating on Exams."
Jessica Hynes, an associate professor of legal studies who oversees academic integrity at Quinnipiac University, is available to discuss what educators can do to minimize students' opportunities to cheat.
"Social media and technology make it easier for students to cheat," Hynes said. "It's important to educate the faculty and make them aware of the various ways students attempt to cheat. Faculty just can't use the same test in multiple sections anymore. The faculty has to make the temptation to cheat less desirable."
To speak to Hynes, please call John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations at Quinnipiac, at 203-206-4449 (cell) or 203-582-5359 (office).
