Company’s crisis communications to CEO caught abusing his dog
Andrea Obston, a crisis communications expert who teaches in the public relations program, is available to comment on what Centerplate of Stamford should do now that a video showing its CEO abusing his dog has emerged.
Obston said she can discuss how Centerplate, Inc. should handle the situation and how those organizations with contracts with the company should proceed.
"When you have an employee behaving badly, an organization needs to separate the employee's personal issues from the company," Obston said. "They need to get some distance from the guy by putting him on leave. They also should have him issue a statement saying this is out of character... The company also needs to issue a statement saying his personal problems were disturbing to us and we've asked that he take a leave of absence."
If you're interested in speaking to Obston, please call John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations, at 203-206-4449 (cell) or 203-582-5359 (office).
