FDA proposes updates to food labels
Dana White, a registered dietitian who is an a clinical assistant professor in the athletic training and sports medicine program at Quinnipiac University, is available today to discuss the Food and Drug Administration's proposed update to the nutrition facts label found on most food packages in the United States.
"I am very excited about it," White said. "More distinct serving sizes and the addition of 'added sugars,' vitamin D and potassium contents are positive steps towards making food labels more useful and user friendly. It's about time."
