Student Projects

The Central European Institute is very excited to announce new initiatives building on student projects and student activities supported by the institute.

Spring 2013
Global consulting project on germicidal lamp market
The first major student project is a consulting project working on market research. This project builds international consulting teams of students focusing on research of germicidal lamp markets in Russia and Russian-dominated former Soviet countries, North America, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Western Europe. The market for germicidal lamps has been booming in recent years and is expected to continue to grow substantially for many years to come.

A germicidal lamp produces ultraviolent light. While there are many quality and technical reasons that germicidal lamps are used, their growing popularity is in part due to the fact that they are an excellent non-chemical, and hence environmentally friendly, alternative for cleaning food, air, and water. For example, the water in a swimming pool can be treated by germicidal lamp purification systems instead of using chlorine.

The project is conducted by six teams, each one with students from at least two countries: Quinnipiac University (USA), Mathias Corvinus Collegium (Hungary), the GTK-Business Consulting Club, Babes-Bolyai University (Romania), and Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania (Romania).

Each participating student will receive a certificate from Quinnipiac and a separate certificate from CEENET Inc. certifying them as a participating consultant in the "Global Consulting Project on Germicidal Lamp Market Research." If a single team is identified as an overall winning team then that will be added to the certificates for those team members.
