August 1, 2013 - Snowden Is Whistle-Blower, Not Traitor, U.S. Voters Tell Quinnipiac University National Poll PDF format American voters say 55 - 34 percent that former National Security Agency consultant Edward Snowden is a whistle-blower rather than a traitor, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. This finding is unchanged from a July 10 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN- uh-pe-ack) University. "Most American voters think positively of Edward Snowden, but that was before he accepted asylum in Russia," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. From July 28 - 31, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,468 registered voters with a margin of error of +/- 2.6 percentage points. Live interviewers call land lines and cell phones.
