Allegretto appointed assistant controller

Jan. 14, 2014 - Stephen Allegretto has been appointed assistant controller. 

In his new role, Allegretto will oversee the operations and control processes related to the University's treasury, which includes but is not limited to cash, payroll, investments and debt. He will also be in charge of maintenance to the general ledger. 

Before coming to Quinnipiac, Allegretto was an audit supervisor at Marcum, LLP's New Haven office where he was accountable for the overall management of assigned client engagements, including planning, risk determination, customizing audit programs, administration, scheduling of personnel and performing complex aspects of audit fieldwork. 

"In working with the University's controller's office in the past while at Marcum, I have always admired the culture here at Quinnipiac and I am excited to actually be a part of it," Allegretto said. "It is an amazing opportunity and I look forward to working closely with management to help the university meet its goals."

Allegretto received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Fairfield University, where he double majored in accounting and information systems.
