Feb. 22, 2013 - Corban Addison, a lawyer and author, will discuss his book, "A Walk Across the Sun: Abolishing Modern Slavery," at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Burt Kahn Court on the Mount Carmel Campus. This event, sponsored by the Department for Cultural and Global Engagement at Quinnipiac, is free and open to the public.

With his passion for human rights, the world, and its cultures, Addison was inspired to leave behind a career in the legal field to raise awareness for the tragic national and global issue of human trafficking. His novel is based on travels to India, Europe and Washington, D.C., where he spent time with experts and activists in the field.  He also went undercover in the brothels of Mumbai to meet trafficking victims.

Addison holds degrees in law and engineering from the University of Virginia and California Polytechnical State University in San Luis Obispo. He is a passionate supporter of international justice causes.
