Burke appointed director of veteran and military affairs
Sept. 4, 2013 - Jason Burke has been appointed to the newly created position of director of veteran and military affairs.
In his new position, Burke will work closely with both undergraduate and graduate-level administrative offices to ensure veterans' benefits are used effectively and efficiently.
"I will be an advocate for Quinnipiac veterans and military students as well as their dependents by providing a wide range of support services and outreach both on and off campus," Burke said. "I hope this position enables our veteran student cadre to continue to grow and utilize its services well beyond graduation."
Prior to joining Quinnipiac, Burke was an associate professor in the national security affairs department at the United States Naval War College in Newport, R.I.
Burke earned a master's degree in national strategic studies from the United States Naval War College and a bachelor's degree in oceanography from the United States Naval Academy.
He is also a member of the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Tailhook Association.
Jason is married to Lauri Burke and has two children, Layne, 17, and Sydney, 13.
